The Family We Plan to Help

Daniel Thomas is a Knoxville teen suffering a life threatening medical condition. He's lost both kidneys and has cardiac complications. Because of his heart condition, he has been removed from the Donor list for a new kidney.

Daniel is able to reside at home for now. But, he requires full-time medical care and numerous doctor & hospital visits. As a result, his mom, Sarah, a single mother of three, is unable to work. Instead, she does what any loving mother would do: She cares for her son full-time.

-----------------------------------------

Please join us in blessing Sarah! During the week of, December 14-23 we're seeking donations to help pay their family's Christmas gifts and essential living expenses (food, clothing and shelter). Anything you can give is greatly appreciated. As a "Thank You" for your donation, we've provided original desktop backgrounds (in the right column of this page) for you to use on your computer.

If you live in Knoxville, please contact Christina or Dez (865.591.1133 or mrscmdavis@hotmail.com) directly to make a donation. If you'd like to know more about this family or want to donate items instead of cash, please contact me for details. We can also pick up items from local donors. Otherwise, you may make a donation by clicking the Paypal button at the top of the page or mailing donations to our home.

Thank you for any gift you can give! PRAYERS ARE DEFINITELY WELCOME!

The Results Are In...

Job 5:9 says the Lord "...performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted." I've known this to be true in my life and the lives of those around me. This Christmas season, the Lord has proven this true as well in our Big Give project.

Last night, we visited with the Thomas family to present them with $827.47 in Christmas gifts, food, and living expense assistance!! Isn't our God miraculous!! What began as $77 was multiplied almost eleven times to bless a family in need. ONLY God could do that.

Together, we shared in testimonies of the Lord's ever present help; songs of encouragement; prayers of faith & thanksgiving; and plenty of hugs and tears! It was a time we'll NEVER forget.

We thank you for your support, prayers, and donations! Because of our Lord working through the hearts and hands of so many, an impact in eternity has been made. It is our hope that: "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." (Numbers 6:24-26)

Day 6 Update

We're still moving right along. We're waiting for checks in the mail from those who've pledge amounts. If all the pledge money arrives, we will have $790 to present to the Thomas family. I'm sure we'll probably add an additional $10 in there to make it an even $800! God is so good. We'd like to thank Dee Austin and Tiffany Hearn for their contributions! You're making a difference in the Kingdom of God!

Day 4 Update: Unity (Ephesians 4)

Today, my family (immediate and extended) had its annual Secret Santa Pajama Party!! Having set a $30 limit, we exchanged gifts with one another. It was such a blessing to set that limit for ourselves while working together to hopefully bless the Thomas family with $1000 before the year ends (hopefully by Christmas). Including the members of our extended family, we began with $77 from The Big Give. Through various means (candy sales, baked good sales, donations, & drives), the Lord has multiplied that amount to almost $700. In a very intimate way, we are seeing the beauty of what God can do when we use our gifts to unite and work towards one purpose.

We're so grateful for what the Lord has done and are continually praying to reach the $1000 goal.

Please pray for family "Daniel." We learned today that his heart function is at 12%. Because of this, his doctor will not release him to be put back on the donor list for a kidney.

Day 3 Update: Faith With Works!!

What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. (James 2:14-17).

We're praising God for those whose works are displaying their faith!! God is abundantly blessing by touching the hearts of people to give to the Thomas family. Today we received a $100 donation! This brings our total to $247 thus far! Glory be to God our Father!
